Traditions that treat the person as a limit on what a group may do.

Mill and Nozick reach a related limit by different arguments, utilitarian and rights-based. Rawls asks what free and equal persons could accept as fair terms. None of these is a party. The NOEMA pole records the limit, not the argument and not a voting record.
