Explorers
Physicalism, discovered meaning, and the priority of the person.
Explorers treat the world as a physical order that can be investigated, and they treat meaning as something a person can find rather than merely declare. The individual, not the crowd, is the one who has to track that finding. Members of this family still divide on whether observation or argument should lead, on whether outcomes or constraints decide a hard case, and on whether the will is fixed by what came before.
This is not a measure of personality, mental health, intelligence, or character.
- MECDFIMeasured Inquirer
Observation corrects a physical picture, outcomes decide the hard cases, the past fixes the choice, and a single life can still track a meaning it did not invent.
- MECLFIOpen Naturalist
The physical world is investigated by observation, the future of a choice is not already closed, and the meaning of the inquiry is one a person can find.
- MEDDFIBound Witness
A physical and causal picture does not cancel the search for a meaning, and it does not license every act whose results look better.
- MEDLFISelf-Moving Observer
The world is physical, some acts stay forbidden, the agent could have refused, and the meaning of the refusal is there to be found.
- MRCDFIDeductive Naturalist
Reason can reach the structure of a physical world, outcomes judge the act, and one inquirer can find a meaning argument helps to uncover.
- MRCLFIOpen-Future Rationalist
Reason tracks a physical order, a person could have done otherwise, and the effort answers to a meaning it does not invent.
- MRDDFINecessity’s Student
Necessity and reason describe a physical world, some acts remain forbidden, and a person can still find what a life answers to.
- MRDLFIFree Rational Inquirer
Reason, an open will, and a meaning already worth finding can belong to one life in a physical world.
