A universe without a purpose

Associated with Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus (1942). The questionnaire’s options are original.

Camus describes the absurd as a confrontation, not as a doctrine that nothing is worth doing. The questionnaire separates three responses: meaning can still be found in values that do not need a cosmic purpose; meaning is created by sustained projects; or, without a cosmic purpose, meaning does not get a foothold. The third response is recorded and not forced onto the creation pole.

Creation is not nihilism. Discovery does not require a providential plan. The page exists to keep those distinctions visible.
